Whats new at Chaffins Environmental and Social Policy Targets 2007-2008

• To recycle 75% of waste produced on site • 90 % of employment to be all year round • To run our vehicle fleet efficiently (to introduce E4 Engines on a rolling basis) • To introduce Bio Diesel into our vehicle fleet (start January 2007) • To operate an Equal Opportunities policy • To maintain Investors in People Accreditation • To spend 25 % of total turnover in the local economy • To use audited renewable electricity • To spend 10 % of Trading purchases in the West Country (Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Dorset) • We will seek to expand our links with the local community, e.g. schools, colleges, charities. • To seek to introduce water catchment for vehicle washing • To plan to use Wind power/Geo Thermal in next phase of expansion • We will further expand Fair Trade products into our business • The term Local Fair Trade is one we use to check that when we are purchasing products which are produced in the UK, that the products are in accordance with our ethical trading policy & that an equitable deal has been achieved by the primary supplier.
